Saudi Aramco Senior Vice President to Keynote at ASIS Middle East

Brussels, Belgium 2011-02-02

Mr. Abdulaziz F. Al-Khayyal, Senior Vice President, Industrial Relations of Saudi Aramco will be a keynote speaker at the 2nd ASIS International Middle East Security Conference & Exhibition that will be held in Manama, Bahrain on 20-22 February 2011.

ASIS International President Raymond T. O'Hara, CPP, said: “ASIS International is very pleased with the participation of Mr Al-Khayyal in the 2nd Middle East Security Conference & Exhibition as the contribution from such an experienced and high level representative is an important added value to our programme and illustrates Saudi Aramco’s support to ASIS International’s activities in the Middle East.”

Mr. Al-Khayyal was appointed to this position on 1 September 2007. As Head of the Industrial Relations business line, he is responsible for many of the company’s most vital support operations, including human resources and training, safety and security, government and public relations, community services, and medical services.

He joined the company in 1981 as an engineer and then held a variety of managerial positions in oil and gas operations and maintenance for different companies. In particular he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco in 2004 and to PetroRabigh in 2005. Mr. Al-Khayyal is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, where he received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977 and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1979. He attended the company’s Management Development Seminar in 1986 and the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.

As a keynote speaker, Mr. Al-Khayyal will discuss the development of organizational resilience through international standards and guidelines. The 2nd ASIS International Middle-East Security Conference & Exhibition will take place under the patronage of H.E. Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It will cover a wide range of security issues in 33 high-level educational sessions divided over 3 parallel tracks. The conference will also include sessions for Chief Security Officers (CSOs) organised by the CSO Roundtable of ASIS International.
