FAIRFAX, VA – March 16, 2011 – The 2011 Government Security Conference & Expo (GovSec) featuring the U.S. Law Enforcement Conference & Exposition, produced by the 1105 Event Group, announced today that ASIS International (ASIS) the preeminent organization for security management professionals, will operate the ASIS Bookstore and present a free session about the value of pursuing highly recognized certifications for the security profession.

On March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., ASIS will present a free session entitled “Building Career Competencies and Professional Recognition.” Led by Philip S. Deming, CPP, CFE, SPHR, the session will explain to attendees the strategic value of pursuing Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designations and how earning these certifications will enhance professional competencies and help advance attendees’ careers.
The ASIS Bookstore at GovSec will be open March 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and March 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. At the ASIS Bookstore, attendees of both the free GovSec Expo and the full conference will have the opportunity to purchase the latest titles in emergency planning, physical security, terrorism, ASIS certification study guides and many other topics in the organization’s comprehensive collection.

For a fee, attendees can register for the full GovSec and U.S. Law Enforcement conference, which includes four, comprehensive educational tracks, additional keynote presentations and networking events. The full conference early bird rate is $395 for government employees and $445 for non-government employees. Individuals wishing to attend only select law enforcement sessions are invited to pre-register for those at a rate of $25 per session.
