ASIS International Reprints the Popular Booklet “Career Opportunities in Security”

Alexandria, Va. 2008-01-11
ASIS International, the preeminent organization for security professionals worldwide, is pleased to announce the reprinting of “Career Opportunities in Security.” The 32-page booklet provides information of interest to anyone seeking to learn more about security, and serves as a valuable resource to those considering a career in security management, or wanting to further their existing careers in the industry.

The third-edition booklet describes the most widely recognized disciplines of physical security, information security, personnel security, information systems security, homeland security and critical infrastructure protection (CIP), and details the typical responsibilities of individuals working in each of those disciplines.

In addition, “Career Opportunities in Security” contains practical information for individuals seeking a new or higher position in the industry, pursuing a career change or transitioning from a career in law enforcement or the military. The booklet also outlines the prerequisites—for both entry-level management and mid-level management positions—for security jobs in 16 specialty fields, ranging from banking/financial services and healthcare to retail loss prevention and security engineering and design.

“Career Opportunities in Security” may be viewed and downloaded from the ASIS Web site at http://www.asisonline.org.  A print copy of the booklet may be ordered from ASIS Member Services by calling 703-519-6200 or emailing asis@asisonline.org and requesting item number B0762.
