The power of one is mighty. What if every ASIS member referred just one peer/colleague to join our diverse, global community of security professionals? As an engaged member of ASIS, no one has better first-hand knowledge about the value of ASIS membership. How can I benefit from the ASIS Member Challenge?
The most important benefits of program participation will come from the idea sharing and collaboration you’ll experience as part of a larger, global network of security professionals. Plus, all members who recruit a new member as part of our 2020 member-get-a-member campaign will be entered to win one of (20) $100 Amazon Gift Cards. In addition, the participant with the most new member points will win the grand prize—a Global Security Exchange (GSX) event package (including a full-access registration, three nights hotel accommodations, and $500 travel stipend). In the event of a tie, one person will be randomly selected.
How do I score points?
When you encourage someone to join, make sure the new member fills out the “Who may we thank for referring you to ASIS International” on their application (your member number and/or email address can also be entered). You will earn participation points based on the new member category of your recruit(s):
- 1 point each for new student members
- 5 points each for new regular members (includes all Emerging Market categories)
- 7 points each for new CSO Center members

Contest Rules
Who is eligible to participate?
All current members are eligible to participate in the 2020 ASIS Member Challenge – The Power of One campaign.
Who qualifies as a new member recruit?
All global security professionals who have not been members of ASIS or whose membership expired as of 31 December 2018 are considered new members.
How are referrals/recruits tracked?
Tracking occurs through the “Who may we thank for referring you to ASIS International” field on all membership applications and the online application (see example). The recruiter’s name must be entered in this field on all new member applications (your member number and/or email address can also be entered) Participation points are earned based on the new member category of your recruit(s):
- 1 point each for new student members
- 5 points each for new regular members (includes all Emerging Market categories)
- 7 points each for new CSO Center members
What is the campaign timeframe?
Our 2020 member-get-a-member campaign runs 1 March through 30 June. These dates apply across all methods of submittal (fax, online, mail).
How will I know if I won a prize?
All prize winners will be notified on/before 1 August 2020 via email or phone. Recruiters should make sure their contact information (email and shipping address) are current and accurate in their member record to ensure receipt of prizes.

Terms and Conditions
Prize Restrictions:
Prize is non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be converted into cash.
Appropriate travel visas to enter the United States must be obtained by winner. ASIS International cannot assist with the visa application or interview process.
All trip and prize details (including, but not limited to hotels, room, and/or transportation) will be designated solely by Contest Sponsor and may be changed without notice at any time based on Contest Sponsor's sole discretion.
The Prize winner is responsible for all applicable cancellation fees associated with the hotel or airfare in the event of cancellation, unless directed by ASIS International. No alternative prize, cash equivalent, or other substitution is permitted. Other restrictions and conditions of travel apply. Photo ID and/or valid passport is required for travel and will be verified upon check-in. Winner is solely responsible for all home country national, federal, state, and local taxes and other fees associated with prize receipt and use. No other substitution, assignment or transfer of prizes permitted, except by Contest Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of greater or equal value.
Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes winner’s consent to Sponsor’s use of winner’s name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown, and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
Release: By entering this Contest, entrant agrees to release and hold harmless, ASIS International, each of their related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
Winner List: Contest results and a copy of these Official Rules may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ASIS International, Attention: Marketing Department, 1625 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, USA. Requests must be received within thirty (30) days of the Contest closing date.
