DISCUSSION PANEL - Geopolitical risks

In a military conflict on the Korean Peninsula, the set of available options decreases as military conflict approaches, before going to virtually zero with the onset of a full-blown shooting war. Companies operating in South Korea must learn to make sense of the environment so that they may grasp opportunities for effective crisis management before those opportunities disappear. Crisis managers must learn to gather information, interpret pronouncements and actions, evaluate the significance of available information, watch for key trigger events, and prepare to act so that you can make good decisions while there is still time.

Mr. Johnson has spent most of his work life in Asia. Working in both the IT and the security sectors, he has been based in Korea and Singapore, while running companies with direct operations in Korea, China, Singapore, and India. He has coordinated partnerships and conducted business throughout Asia for Erudite Risk’s multinational clients. Mr. Johnson is also a former technology analyst, reporting on Asian technology issues, and served as an intelligence analyst in the US Army, where he focused on North Korea. Mr. Johnson speaks English, Korean, and Chinese (Mandarin). He has a BA in economics and mathematics and an MBA from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management.
