Data Center Protection

​Protection of the data center environment is much more about resiliency than security.  A strong physical security posture, use of technology and protocols is required as a component of the protected and resilient ecosystem.  However, the entirety of the data center operation must be considered as a layering of functions and systems to include of power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, connectivity and the structure itself. This session will discuss the operational considerations necessary to plan for and delivery of this ecosystem.

Joe is the Chief Security Officer for Switch Ltd. where he is responsible for personnel, physical, infrastructure and information security.  He has an extensive and well-rounded background in Security, his chosen profession.  For the past 25+ years he purposefully worked in as many aspects of the Security Profession as he could.  His career included Facility Security Officer for a Defense contractor, Security Director for a National Bank Call Center, Security Consultant and Engineered Systems Sales Manager for integrators designing security and surveillance systems, and as a Municipal Police Officer.


Nicolas Le Saux is a recognized expert in the security and safety field. His past experience includes a partnership at Accenture and several senior risk management positions. He is a board member of USP the French private security professional organization and serves as VP for ASIS International Region 9A (UK, France, Benelux and Ireland). He has also been appointed by the Interior Ministry as a member of the licensing and control commission of the Private Security Regulatory Body (CNAPS). He holds a reserve commission as a senior officer in the French Army, specializing in high level security and policing issues and also served as a professional soldier. He has a PhD in public law and is CPP certified. He runs a security group listed among the top 30 French security companies with subsidiaries in guarding, security consulting and training.
