Securing the North American electric grid is a top priority for regulators and utilities. The loss of electric power can negatively impact all businesses and disrupt the economy. While industry remains focused on “keeping the lights on,” current events have prompted security professionals to improve physical security measures at critical facilities.

This webinar will review best practices for securing electric infrastructure and discuss the ongoing threat to transmission substations, generating plants, and electricity control centers. The newly implemented NERC CIP-014 Physical Security Standard, and the future of security regulation in the electricity sector, will be part of the discussion of what the electricity industry is doing to protect North America’s power grid.

Learning Objectives

  • Find out what industry is doing today to better protect electric infrastructure
  • Learn how the NERC CIP-014 Standard has affected industry and overall system reliability
  • Identify the threats facing substations, generating plants, and energy control centers
