This webinar will explore Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM), and the synergies between physical security and information security.  In this webinar, the speaker will address the following questions:  What is physical security's role in the protection of cyber systems? What can be done to improve the cyber security of physical security systems?  Are there lessons to be learned from our information technology colleagues?  Are there benefits to melded systems?

Introducing research and tools from the National Institute of Science and Tech​nology (NIST) and Information Security (INFOSEC), the speaker will describe the physical security of cyber systems and why it is important as well as demonstrate the reciprocal relationship between physical security and cyber defense.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain how NIST and INFOSEC processes apply to physical security.
  • State the advantages of merging of physical and cyber information systems.
  • Use provided tools to improve the physical security of cyber systems and the cyber security of physical systems.


Mr. Jeffrey A. Slotnick, CPP, PSP is an internationally-known enterprise security risk management (ESRM) consultant with more than 28 years of experience who is peer recognized as a "thought leader." Mr. Slotnick is a credentialed ISO Lead Auditor responsible for recent advancements in disaster resilience/organizational resilience management, ISO/ANSI standards development, resiliency information management processes, and enterprise security risk management. He is focused on the professional development of security, law enforcement, and military personnel, exceptional security services, all aspects of ESRM including risk, vulnerability, and threat assessments, emergency response planning, business continuity planning, and physical security system master planning, design and integration. Jeff is an Senior Regional Vice President (SRVP) for ASIS International, faculty advisor for the University of Phoenix, member of The Risk Management Society (RIMS), and a 17-year reserve law enforcement officer (LEO) for Centralia, Washington.​

 Cancellation and Transfer Policy

For a full refund or transfer credit, written requests must be received by ASIS at least three business days before the start date of the program. Those received less than three days prior will be charged a $25 cancellation/transfer fee.
