The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) states that, “The protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data is a fundamental right.” From this follows strict regulations which will be requirements for anyone wanting to do business with European Union (EU)/the European Economic Area (EEA) or Schengen countries.

How do we approach this? Do we implement the absolute minimum, hoping that will be enough, or do we embrace it and make it into a business asset, an asset that makes customers choose our business first and foremost?

This webinar will give a brief history of the EU personal data regulations up to the implementation of GDPR May 25, 2018 and describe the key principles of the GDPR.  The presenter will discuss challenges and solutions (based on her business experiences) regarding the EU regulations and give tips on how to approach GDRP to make it a business enabler, not a business hindrance.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Determine which requirements of the GDPR will impact their business.
  • Apply key principles of the GDPR in a way that enhances rather than detracts from the business.
  • Employ the solutions that others have implemented successfully with regard to GDPR.
