The capstone of the Series, APC III concentrates on building your leadership skills in the context of the security industry. Using practical applications, templates, and assessments, enhance your ability to develop, manage, and be seen as a leader in your workplace and with your clients which contributes directly to the bottom line. The program format is the primary method of instruction used at leading graduate business schools. Current articles and an in-depth, real-world security case study that applies business concepts and theories learned during the course of the program serve as the basis for discussion throughout. Sessions also encompass relevant lecture topics, with significant sharing, discussion, and real-life business applications.

I started the APC series in 2009 while working as a regional security officer in a local bank in Nigeria. In 2010 when I completed APC II, I got promoted to the assistant chief security officer in the same bank. I did the final course in the series in 2012 and I have just been appointed the country's head of security in another bank in Nigeria. The APC series has been the cornerstone of my loss prevention knowledge and the basis for the quick rise in my career. I use the knowledge, skills acquired, and the network developed during these programs daily. I would highly recommend the APC Series for individuals working in asset protection.

 Program Overview

Become a Magnetic Leader and Command Respect
Discover your natural leadership strengths and weaknesses. Nothing is more powerful than leaders who are self-aware, know where they excel, and embrace what they need to do to elevate their leadership capabilities to the next level. Return to your office with key leadership insights that you can implement immediately.

Managing and Communicating in a Complex World
Managers manage the work, leaders lead the people. To be effective as leaders in security, you need to do both well, as lives and property are at stake. But what is the difference: what makes a good manager and a good leader? Through exercises and examples, applicable case studies and discussions, this highly interactive session enables you to begin, or continue, your journey to becoming a successful leader. Learn the latest techniques from experts in the field and share practical applications with others in the class. Return home with a better understanding of your strengths and areas in need of improvement as well as a template and action plan to accomplish these goals and achieve exceptional results through others.

Leading for Exceptional Results
Leadership is a critical component in the lives of security professionals. Leadership capability is indeed a differentiator and, luckily, can be learned! Examine specific skills that make an effective leader (not manager, but leader). Group discussion and activities will help you formulate your path to successful leadership and effective results. This engaging and interactive approach guarantees awareness as well as personal improvement.

Unleashing Your Leadership Potential
Maximize your leadership skills and exceed the expectations of your team! Take the SELF Profile to better understand the different styles of communication and personalities within your department and then learn how to foster creativity and innovation within your team. Use your understanding of the generations to manage—recruit, lead, motivate, coach, retain, and teach—them better. Learn new strategies and best practices to build successful teams.

Case Study
Dunkin Donuts Security Focuses on Making Dough!
The case study will be distributed prior to your arrival, so you arrive aware of the facts and prepared to apply the business concepts and theories learned in the program. Case studies are valuable learning tools that develop key skills which are critical in both business and security management: communication, collaboration, and group problem solving.
