The announcement comes as registration opens for next year’s event, where the conference theme will be "Blurred Boundaries - Clear Risks".

Having launched a new “From Risk to Resilience” format for the event earlier this year in Milan, which includes conference sessions, masterclasses, classroom training, career centre, exhibition, and a dedicated technology and solutions track, ASIS has been assessing the best venues and locations in which to advance the event concept.

Taking into account recent developments, this assessment has now concluded with the decision to base both the 2018 and 2019 events in Rotterdam, with the 2020 event taking place in Prague, Czech Republic.

ASIS CEO Peter O’Neil, CAE, states, “With the recent decision to base the event in Rotterdam for two editions, we can focus our energy on generating outstanding education, and refining the event model to maximise ROI for all participants. We are already excited about bringing that fully developed event to a new location in Prague a few years later in 2020. ASIS Europe is unique in gathering both established and aspiring leaders in the security, risk, resilience, and crisis management domains, so we know satisfying the learning needs of that community means continuously developing the event to stay on top of an ever-changing business risk landscape”.

Eduard Emde, CPP, conference chair, adds, “The conference in 2018 will expand on some of the key questions raised at this year's event around securing connected enterprises in the era of IoT, with a focus on the role of big data, automation, and artificial intelligence. As Rotterdam is one of The Netherlands’ key business, logistics, and innovation hubs, we’re sure the content focus will resonate with local, regional and global professionals”.

Conference registration has opened with special early rates available until 15 November, starting from €600 for ASIS Members / €830 for nonmembers.
