Once again, the Reach Out Member-Get-a-Member Campaign was a grand success with ASIS chapters and individual members collectively recruiting more than 3500 new members in 2012. ASIS extends its sincere appreciation to all of those volunteer leaders at the chapter, regional, and national levels and individual members who invested their time and energy in the recruitment of new members. ASIS membership grew to its highest level in 2012 with 38,000 members worldwide.
It is an exciting time in the history of ASIS as the membership continues to grow and diversify globally. International, or non-US, members account for 28% of our membership community. The 2012 winning chapter and individual members reflect the tremendous growth of the organization worldwide. Congratulations to the Mexico City chapter that recruited 70 new members—the highest number of any chapter in 2012. The Ghana chapter took top honors for the highest net percentage of growth in the year. The chapter grew by more than 188%.
Ap Boom, CPP, PSP from the Benelux chapter recruited 27 regular members in 2012—the most of any individual member. Sweden’s Klas Nilsson, CPP, PCI, PSP, came in a close second last year by recruiting 21 regular members and one student.
