The top 10 Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement actions, from 2008 to through early 2014, have resulted in settlements of nearly $4 billion. Add to this the threat of prosecutions from both the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act (UKBA) and it’s easy to see why some companies are beginning to shy away from some markets. Bribery and corruption are not solely legal issues; they can have a damaging effect on the reputation of the organization.
This session examines the vital role corporate security professionals play in mitigating these issues; why security is the first line in defense of an organization’s reputation; and provides actionable information on how FCPA and UKBA are being enforced. MODERATOR: Frank Ewald, CPP
