Peter the Drug Dog
is a first-dog account of what life is like for a working drug detection dog. Peter, a yellow Labrador Retriever, was one of the first privately owned drug detection dogs in the U.S. He was responsible for finding $19 million in illegal narcotics. He traveled to thirteen countries and twenty-nine states with his handler, Hank. This book follows Peter and his handler on some of his real-life experiences, beginning with Peter’s puppy years, through drug training school, graduation, and working years. This book is not only about a binding friendship between a dog and his owner, but it also tells the story of a unique, real-life working drug dog doing his job.
