As tragic stories of violence and suicide continue to mount nation-wide, schools, colleges, and organizations must update their conventional approaches with next generation threat assessment solutions to proactively identify, investigate, assess, and intervene with students and/or employees who show signs of distress, aggression, and violence. This webinar features the Cawood Assessment and Response Grids which are taking threat assessment to the next level and were recently awarded the BEST incident and records management software by Campus Safety magazine.
The Cawood Grids offer an empirically based methodology to identify behaviors of concern and provide a means to quantify the current potential risk of violence, both initially and after new behaviors are noted. The Grids and the TIPS prevention platform provide team members with the right tools to prioritize incidents, assess at-risk individuals, escalate incidents/individuals to internal and external resources, manage and monitor intervention, prevent escalations, and document actions. They also include responses that can be assigned as tasks to the appropriate individuals to ensure the correct follow-up actions occur.
The Cawood Grids also play a vital role in helping organizations meet numerous recommendations within the ANSI Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention Standard (WVPI), co-developed by ASIS and SHRM. The ANSI WVPI standard provides an overview of policies, processes, and protocols that organizations can adopt to help identify and prevent threatening behavior and violence affecting the workplace, and to better address and resolve threats and violence that have actually occurred.
