Alexandria, VA (November 19, 2002) - ASIS International (ASIS) is pleased to announce its European conference, Securing the Global Workplace , which will be held in conjunction with the International Facility Management Association's (IFMA) World Workplace Europe on May 11-13, 2003, at the Prague Congress Centre, Czech Republic.

The security and management of a building or facility have often been closely tied together, particularly in Europe where the responsibility for security often lies under the auspices of facility management. In today's post-9/11 world, the two disciplines are more closely intertwined than ever, thus the co-joining of the ASIS and IFMA conferences offer advantages to both security and facility management professionals.

Securing the Global Workplace will feature international experts who will examine the challenges and shifting dynamics of protecting today's work environment. Concurrent sessions focusing on key physical security and terrorism-related issues will be addressed.

ASIS and IFMA conference attendees will be able to attend sessions at both events as well as joint ASIS/IFMA opening and closing keynote presentations and the exhibits for the same registration fee. By attending both conferences, security and facility management professionals will gain fresh perspectives and more comprehensive ways to approach the related challenges faced by global organizations.

The May 2003 event is the second European conference held by ASIS. The 2002 conference attracted more than 350 security management professionals from 28 countries.
