Awards for Chapters

The Reach Out! Member-Get-A-Member Program rewards your chapter for encouraging other security professionals to join ASIS International.

Campaign dates: January 1, 2009 through November 30, 2009

There are two key components to membership growth - retention and recruitment - and to be successful, chapters must do both well. So while you are Reaching Out, don't forget about Holding On to current members! The awards below will be based on net percentage growth at the end of the year, which rewards the chapters that have strong recruitment and strong retention programs.

Hold OnTo equalize the playing field for all size chapters, there are now two award structures for chapters - one based on net number of members gained and one based on net percentage of members gained. So whether your chapter is large, small, or somewhere in between, you have an equal opportunity to compete and win valuable awards!

2009 Awards for Chapters

Following based on NET NUMBER of members increase from 1/1/08 through 11/30/08

Add 10 members to your chapter and earn: $250 cash award

Add 20 members: One free Protection of Assets (POA) Manual (a $485 value)

Add 30+ members: One free, full (four-day) registration to the ASIS 2010 Annual Seminar and Exhibits (a $790 value).

Grand Prize for highest net number of members increase: Two Virtual Forums of your choice plus a $1,200 cash award (a $1,590 value)

Following based on NET PERCENTAGE of members increase from 1/1/08 through 11/30/08

Increase members by 10% and earn: $250 cash award

Increase members by 20%: One free Protection of Assets (POA) Manual (a $485 value)

Increase new members by 30%+: One free, full (four-day) registration to the ASIS 2010 Annual Seminar and Exhibits (a $790 value).

Grand Prize for highest net percentage of members increase: One free, full (four-day) registration to the ASIS 2010 Annual Seminar and Exhibits plus four nights' hotel (a $1,600 value).

Getting Started

Follow these four easy steps:
  1. Read the Rules and Regulations.
  2. Check out the Recruiter Kit for the applications and resources you will need.
  3. Engage all current chapter members ASAP and set a chapter goal.
  4. Review the 15 Retention Tips. Remember, holding on to current members is just as important!

ReachOut! Tips:

  1. If you win an award, consider raffling it off to make some extra money for your chapter.
  2. Contact 2008 Chapter winners to learn about their winning ways.
  3. Ask each Chapter member to pledge to recruit at least ONE new member before November 30, 2009. That alone could increase your numbers substantially... Plus this is a very attainable goal for most members.
  4. Check your status every quarter as compared to other chapters and let members know how close your chapter is to the top. This can generate some healthy competition: "Let's recruit 10 more members and we will be in the lead!"
