Instructions on Applying for Life Membership

Please read the instructions below before filling out the Life Membership Application.

In order to be eligible to apply for Life Membership in ASIS, the applicant must

  1. be currently retired from full-time employment,
  2. have been a member in good standing for the last twenty consecutive years,
  3. have paid ASIS dues for the current year, and
  4. have made a notable contribution to ASIS (the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors makes the final determination as to what constitutes a notable contribution).

The applicant should complete and sign Parts I and IV of the Life Member application. Part IV is a matrix utilized by the Society's Executive Committee to assist them in their assessment of a life member applicant's notable contribution to the Society. However, this is used only a guideline as other issues may be used in this assessment. Upon completion of Parts I and IV, the applicant should send the form to the local chapter chairman, who completes Part II.

Upon completing and signing Part II, the local chapter chairman should then forward the application to ASIS Headquarters.

Finally, the application will be voted on by the Executive Committee of the ASIS Board of Directors at their next meeting.

Please Note: Approval is not automatic; not all applications are approved.
