This area of the ASIS Web site is dedicated to security professionals within the law enforcement sector who have an interest in expanding their career options through ASIS board certification, education, and membership.

For those currently serving in law enforcement, as well as those who may be pursuing a second career outside of law enforcement, ASIS programs and certifications prepare professionals to take the next step in their career.

The primary mission of ASIS is to advance the security profession by preparing practitioners to perform their roles in the most efficient and effective manner. In line with this mission, ASIS offers:

ASIS Sets up Online Archive for MSU's CIP Update
In order to provide current information to the communities and other stakeholders on public/private partnerships, Michigan State University (MSU) began publishing the CIP Update newsletter containing ideas, suggestions, best practices, and lessons learned to establish critical incident protocols using public-private partnerships. In partnership with MSU, ASIS has established an archive of the newsletters for its members' reference. VISIT THE ARCHIVES

ASIS and IACP Sign Memo of Understanding
ASIS President Michael Cummings and IACP President Russell Laine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formally partners the two largest global security organizations.

LELC Introduces Operation-Partnership Publication from DOJ
On September 22, 2009 at the Annual ASIS International Seminar in Anaheim, CA, the Law Enforcement Liaison Council (LELC) sponsored a session about the completion of the U. S. Department of Justice, COPS-funded "Operation Partnership" publication. The report is intended for government and private-sector policymakers at the local, state, and national levels, and for leaders and members of associations that support law enforcement and security professionals.
