ASIS FoundationThe Allan J. Cross Award

The Allan J. Cross, CPP™, Award pays the registration fee for 30 ASIS members to attend any one ASIS certification review course of their choice, throughout the year. The award is made possible, in part, by the generosity of PPM 2000, Inc., a software firm offering incident management solutions. Cross was executive vice president of PPM uPPMntil his death in 1996. He pointed to his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) status with pride, and PPM and the ASIS Foundation partnered to commemorate him in this way. Cross held memberships in the Police Chiefs Association of Southwest Pennsylvania; the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers; and ASIS.

Cross Award winners choose a certification review course from the Professional Development Calendar. Awardees may choose a CPP, PCI, or PSP review course - either in the classroom or online - or Curso de Repaso para el Professional Certificado de Proteccion.

Eligibility

Recipients must be members in good standing who were not previously awarded a Cross Award. Awards are for classes run by ASIS headquarters only. Each chapter may submit one application, signed by the chapter chair. Student members, national officers, ASIS directors, and relatives of the ASIS Foundation Board of Trustees are ineligible for the award.

Application Process

Chapter chairs must fax the application to 703-706-3706 no earlier than 12:00 am EST on January 1 each year. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, until all 30 awards have been distributed. Download the application (pdf).

Selection Process

Awardees are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Once 30 applications are received and validated, no applications will be accepted until the next year. Winning applicants will be selected without regard to race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs, employment status, or any other factors that constitute unfair or illegal discrimination.
