Report from May 2008 Meeting with OVC

The ASIS Foundation convened a one-day workshop moderated by Eugene Rugala ) as part of the continuing work done with the OVC. The workshop focused on how security professionals can and do provide vital services to crime victims.

Distinguished individuals from the private security profession, law enforcement, government, and victim services were part of the group. They discussed how private security professionals, working with law enforcement and victim service providers, can provide vital responses to employees/individuals victimized by criminal behavior that might fall under the purview of private security professionals.

Recommendations that could guide efforts to connect private organizations to public services in response to workplace violence were important results of the workshop.
