Building a Resilient Organization—Three-Part Webinar Series

Using the ASIS Organizational Resilience Standard to Improve Resilience and Preparedness

Series Overview

The ASIS Organizational Resilience Standard has been adopted in the Department of Homeland Security Private Sector Preparedness Program (PS-Prep), a voluntary program designed to improve private sector resilience and preparedness in an all hazards environment.

This series will help organizations become more resilient and better prepared to prevent and manage disruptive events. These programs will help you evaluate your current level of performance and build an action plan that achieves a desired level of resilience and preparedness performance to meet your business requirements and resource realities.

Conducting a Gaps Analysis
July 19, 2010
Where do you get started? Learn to evaluate where you are by conducting a gaps analysis using the "ASIS.SPC.1 Internal Audit and Self-Assessment" tool. This tool provides a basis for benchmarking the resilience performance of your organization against criteria described in the requirements of the ASIS Organizational Resilience standard. Participants will be able to reap the low hanging fruit that will kick start their resilience and preparedness programs. Webinar registrants will receive a free copy of the "ASIS.SPC.1 Internal Audit and Self-Assessment" tool.

Building Resilience Using a Maturity Model
September 16, 2010
Improved resilience and preparedness performance is the goal, however, the trick is how to score a goal. Learn how the maturity model using the ANSI/ASIS Organizational Resilience standard was tested in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. Phase-in improvements and generate a culture of resilience and preparedness awareness within your organization that fits your culture and resources. The maturity model has been used to build a recognition program to incentivize continual improvement. Combining the maturity model with a recognition program might be what your organization needs to drive performance improvements.

Auditing for Improvement
October 13, 2010
"Live from deep in the heart of Texas," this program will be broadcast from the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Dallas. A core activity in implementing and maintaining a cost-effective resilience and preparedness strategy is auditing for improvement. Conformance with the ANSI/ASIS Organizational Resilience standard requires a program of internal auditing geared towards system improvement. Learn how to establish an internal auditing program consistent with the ISO 19011 that drives internal improvement, as well as provides an identical approach to auditing used by third-party certification bodies.
