Can I cover the keynote addresses?All journalists may attend President Pervez Musharraf's keynote address on Thursday, Oct. 14. However, according to his contract, any media outlet recording the speech must provide a DVD copy to President Musharraf's staff immediately following the lecture. If it is not possible for the media outlet to provide the president's staff with a DVD copy onsite, then they must supply a DVD copy to the Harry Walker Agency following the lecture so that they can forward it to President Musharraf. Media coverage for the keynote address by Chesley Sullenberger on Wednesday, Oct. 13 is open to "trade publications" only. Videotaping/recording of remarks is permitted during the first five minutes only. I'm a reporter in Dallas. Complimentary press registration and credentials are extended to qualified media upon receipt of a request for press credentials. Request your press pass. Cameras and recording devices are not allowed in the Exhibit Hall or the Seminar session rooms without permission from ASIS Public Relations. Camera passes may be requested in the Press Room. What kind of access does my press pass give me?The press pass allows reporters access to the Exhibit Hall and Seminar programs (including the opening ceremony, most educational sessions and general sessions). However, if an event is designated as "closed," either due to content or by request of speakers or participants, media will not be allowed access. Many of the CSO Roundtable sessions are closed, for instance. The press pass also allows access to the Seminar Press Room, where exhibitors make their media kits available. Additionally, reporters are invited to attend exhibitors' news conferences in the Press Room during the Seminar. Request your complimentary press pass. Tickets for the Welcome Reception, President's Reception and luncheons (Tuesday through Friday) and other networking opportunities are available for purchase. Entrance into other events (such as the Young Professionals' Reception) is by invitation only. As a reporter, can I make my hotel reservations through ASIS Housing?Yes. The ASIS Housing Bureau has a variety of hotels to fit every budget and accommodation preference. Only those who book their hotel through the ASIS Housing Bureau receive a free shuttle pass (a $50 value) for shuttle services between the Seminar hotels and the convention center. |
