Dallas Police Department - Tour (limit 50 people)

Monday, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

One of the ways the Dallas Police Department (DPD) is fighting crime is through a successful public/private partnership utilizing wireless camera technology in the downtown area. The tour commences from the convention center and includes the Jefferson Boulevard business district en route to police headquarters where you will learn about this public/private partnership and implementation results. You will tour the Police Command Center and receive an explanation of the command center technology. A senior police official will summarize how the DPD is using the technology, crime-fighting results, benefits, value, and future plans for the city and police department as they relate to the use of physical security technology.

Dallas Cowboy Stadium - Tour (limit 150 people)

Monday, 1:15 pm-4:00 pm

Dallas Cowboys security, Arlington, Texas law enforcement, and even federal officials describe security plans and measures at Cowboys Stadium as state-of-the-art, well rehearsed, and tightly collaborative. Constant communication seems to be the backbone for much of the strategy of handling events and games. The stadium has a control room and a command center high above the structure's floor - and detention facilities for those who might commit crimes at the stadium.

On the tour, hear from Cowboys Stadium security and A/V officials, and get a backstage tour of the electronic and security systems of the stadium. Begin the tour by stepping into the $1.1 billion concrete, glass and steel behemoth; hear discussions on the capabilities of the command center, the brain of the entire operation overlooking the field from high above. On game day, up to 20 people will be in the command center, including federal, state, and local authorities.

While many of the security features of the stadium will be available for view, the control room will remain off limits, even to security professionals.
