Learn Successful Strategies for Combating Terrorism from Experts in High-Risk Environments

Security professionals responsible for securing lives and property in critical infrastructure, commercial properties, government facilities, and other high risk locations are invited to participate in an innovative Homeland Security Executive Certificate Studies Program, January 18-24, in Haifa, Israel.

Jointly developed and offered by ASIS International, ASERO Worldwide, and the University of Haifa, this concentrated, seven-day course provides a thorough examination of homeland security challenges, including critical infrastructure protection, jurisdiction issues, and protective countermeasures.

Limited to 25 security professionals, the Homeland Security Studies program employs a variety of instructional approaches including case study analysis, site visits to sensitive security installations and terrorist attack sites, academic lectures, and table-top exercises.

The program integrates the outstanding academic resources of the University of Haifa, which houses leading international researchers in the fields of security, terror, and homeland security; with Israel's "best practices" field-proven techniques.

Benefits

Led by distinguished academics and experienced security professionals, including Doron Bergerbest, former director for Protection and Security, Israeli Security Agency and founder and CEO, ASERO Worldwide, the program combines high-caliber counterterrorism training with historical cultural visits.

Each day, participants will gather at the University of Haifa for classroom discussions on specific security issues, followed by afternoon site visits to iconic installations and critical infrastructure facilities. At night, ASERO security professionals and guest speakers will tie together the day's activities and summarize best practices and lessons learned.

As a result, participants gain practical, real-world experience in critical infrastructure protection, as well as unparalleled access to top Israeli security and counterterrorism experts, leading academics, and senior government officials.

Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Executive Homeland Security Studies from the University of Haifa.

Topics to be covered include

  • Threat-oriented screening
  • Critical infrastructure protection
  • Sector-specific meetings: managing facilities, adapting to changing environments, preparing your organization to face emerging threats
  • Critical role of intelligence in counterterrorism
  • Religious and political bases of modern terrorism

Who should attend

The program is designed for mid-to-senior level executives or practitioners with homeland security and counterterrorism responsibilities.
