Scheduling the Exam (U.S. and Canada Candidates)
The CPP® examination is administered as a computer-based test (CBT) throughout the United States and Canada. After receiving their authorization letters from ASIS, candidates sitting for the examination in these countries may arrange for a test date and location by calling Prometric (the test administration contractor retained by ASIS), toll-free, at 1-800-699-4975, during the following times:

Eastern Standard Time
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

A representative at Prometric will help a candidate select the optimal test date and test location, provide specific instructions and directions, and answer any questions about the testing process. The representative also will give the candidate a confirmation number to be taken to the testing center at the time of the exam.

Prometric-administered exams can also be scheduled through their website, http://www.2test.com.

For the latest information on Prometric locations, check the certification section of the ASIS web site (www.asisonline.org).

Scheduling the Exam (International Candidates)
International candidates should refer to the application for the correct procedure for scheduling the exam.

Examination Scoring and Reporting (U.S. and Canada)
Each candidate is scored privately, within a matter of minutes, and a preliminary score report is issued at the test site. Scores do not become official until they are verified and transmitted to ASIS at the beginning of the following month.

Examination Scoring and Reporting (International)
Scoring of international candidates' answer sheets will be performed by the ASIS-contracted professional testing agency. Official score reports will be mailed, via air, within five weeks after the examination.

Examination Results - All Candidates
Scores are reported on a scale of 200-800, with 650 representing the passing score. The explanation of scaled scoring is below. Each passing candidate will receive information about next steps from ASIS in the month after the examination (including recertification forms). New CPPs® also will receive their official certificates (11" x 14").

Unsuccessful candidates will receive information about retaking the examination. They may take the examination a total of three times in the two-year authorization period. A minimum of three months must elapse before taking the examination a second time. If the examination is taken a third time, six months must elapse between the second and third administrations.

Reapplication
In order to retake the examination, a candidate must complete only the following portions of the application to submit with the fee of either $200 (U.S. and Canada) or $100 (International).
