CPP® Application Instructions

Potential applicants for the CPP® examination should first review the eligibility requirements. If you believe that you meet the experience, ethical, and/or educational requirements to sit for the CPP® exam, continue to the CPP® Examination Application. Complete the application in full and submit it with the fee to ASIS.

Applicants will be notified of their eligibility status after applications are reviewed. The application review process typically takes two-to-three weeks. Eligible candidates will receive information about exam procedures.

Please Note:
Submitted applications that are not approved expire after two years, and all fees are forfeited. The certification department contacts all candidates who have submitted incomplete applications. It is important that requested information is provided so that eligibility to test is approved.

If you are found to be ineligible for the examination because of length of experience, you may request that your application be held until the minimum experience requirement is met (if two years or less).

Application fees are non-refundable. If your application is rejected for any other reason, only the testing fee (US and Canada: $200 for members, $250 for non-members; International: $100 for members, $250 for non-members) will be refunded.

Application and testing fees for approved candidates that do not test within their two year testing period are forfeited.
